SPRING has SPRUNG!
Yes, I know it is still January (and today it actually FEELS like January for once!)  But here at our big tin can in the pasture, our Spring Class Session has started with an explosion of creative energy!
Visual Art, lots of Dance, two levels of Violin classes, and the Moms have caught the Spring Fever and enrolled in classes too!  Check back here often for updates and photos!
PICTURES!
Here at the studio, we are all quite used to Becca Vander Molen wandering around with her camera.  She sneaks un-noticed into classes, sprawls in a straddle on the floor with her back to the mirror.  You might assume she is just there stretching for her next class.  But look closer.  That black thing that is always attached to her face.....its a camera!  And now that she has discovered the convenience of a flashdrive, she is sharing some of those photos with me.  You will see them here, and if you see one that you would like to purchase from her, please contact Becca at rebeccabliss@cox.net. Thanks for capturing our joy, Becca!

STUDENT RESOURCES
If you are looking for your Violin solo missions (aka 'homework') or dress code info, or other things related to the classes you are presently taking, you should find it here.
Class starts at 3:50?  Really? How odd.
Yes, if you looked closely at the schedule, you noticed that some of the intermediate and advanced level dance and violin classes actually begin 10 minutes early.  This gives the students important 'warm up' time.
Students enter the classroom and quietly warm up along the wall while watching the end of the previous class.  This also gives the students a chance to observe the other classes, which is both fun and educational.  When the teacher finishes with one class 'on the hour', the next class is there, warmed up and ready to begin instruction.
Because these are more experienced students, they are able to warmup on their own, so the teacher can use more of the instructional class time for teaching new material, rather than having to lead the students in a full warmup for each class.
Of course, those students who are already in class are already warm, so they move straight from one class to the next 'on the hour'.
Violin II students do their tuning in the lobby before entering the classroom, and then do bow and pencil exercises while they listen to the end of the Violin I class.
